Greetings, and welcome to the Surrey Lofts website

Surrey Lofts is a commercial pigeon breeding and racing organisation conducted by Andrew Spiliopoulos and sons Luke and Sam, and is situated upon fourteen acres of manicured gardens and farmland at Pearcedale, located on the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne.

The high quality of the birds kept is demonstrated by the considerable success the partners enjoy within the largest racing pigeon association in Victoria...and the success of birds sold to other fanciers.

In 2008 they have won first and second positions in the Victorian Homing Association's prestigious Young Bird Derby, and this noteworthy achievement followed a most successful season last year, when they again won the VHA's Combined Aggregate also 2nd in Old in old bird Aggregate twice.

This difficult feat required them to contest about thirty races, and to score more points for racing performance than any other member.....and in races ranging from 120km to 1000km! During season 2007,April 2008 they won four Federation races, an incredible feat in itself, and it is reflective of the enormous effort and contribution Andrew and his sons make to so many facets of this intriguing sport.

Their enthusiasm for anything to do with racing pigeons is boundless!. Surrey lofts maintains some of Australia's most successful 'proven' stock birds, bred from both imported and local familles. In recent years, considerable sums have been spent in the location and acquisition of top class pigeons of international standard, and the results are apparent.

Andrew Spiliopoulos comments: “Pedigree means little if the bird does not breed winning birds. Believe me, I have had those birds too. We have demonstrated by our own race results that we have tested and proven the successful lines, and identified the best breeding stock in each of these families of pigeons.

We look for birds that are first of all hard to lose, and secondly, breed winners. Our breeding birds must produce young birds which meet that criteria.”

In 2005 Surrey lofts commenced the commercial construction of high quality racing lofts and various complimentary products. Andrew commented: “The aim of Surrey Lofts is to be able to cater for every aspect of pigeon racing from 'go to whoa'. We can provide high quality race teams (cross bred birds to race), stock birds (usually pure bred for breeding), lofts, perches, electronic clocking systems, tossing units, loading tunnels, baskets, feeders and fittings of all kinds.”

“We aim to help new fanciers with information, methods regarding the best breeding, training and racing techniques, and the many and varied ways of feeding pigeons to gain success. We have regular contact with six new fanciers at the present time, one of whom won first prize in his Federation in the first race that he contested!”

In the last eight years we have won four VHA Aggregates, and also have been runners up in three VHA Aggregates, we have also won eight Federation races.
